Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026. This explains what data this site uses and why. In short: we don't ask for your personal details, and we'll always ask before using advertising cookies.
Who we are
Watts Up Gaming (this website) is run by an individual in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at [email protected].
Information stored on your device
The calculator remembers your last choices (device, region, hours played) and a copy of today's electricity rates in your browser's local storage, so the page loads faster next time. This stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Services that see your IP address
- Cloudflare hosts this site. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect against attacks.
- Octopus Energy's public tariff data: your browser requests today's electricity rates directly from Octopus Energy's servers. No personal information is sent, but Octopus will see your IP address. We are not affiliated with Octopus Energy.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site, so Google receives your IP address when the fonts load.
Advertising
We may show adverts provided by Google AdSense to help pay for the site. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, and may use them to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. If you're in the UK or EEA, we'll ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are used, through a consent message provided by Google, and you can change your choice at any time. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly visitor statistics provided by our host to understand which pages are popular. These don't use cookies or identify you.
Emails
If you email us, we'll use your email address only to reply, and we won't share it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it and ask for it to be deleted. Contact us at [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
